On Thursday evening, the Golden State Warriors will play the Los Angeles Lakers (at home).

The Warriors most recently beat the Sacramento Kings by a score of 110-105.

Will Richard did not play in the game.

Warriors Announce Player Will Likely Miss Game

UPDATE: Will Richard has been ruled out (h/t Underdog NBA).

For Thursday’s game, the Warriors will likely remain without Richard.

He is listed as doubtful on the injury report.

Danny Emerman of The San Francisco Standard wrote: “Kristaps Porzingis (illness) is out tomorrow vs. the Lakers. His second straight missed game.

Al Horford and Quinten Post also remain out. Steph Curry and Gui Santos are questionable. Will Richard doubtful.

Richard is in the middle of his rookie season after being selected with the 56th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft out of Florida.

He is averaging 6.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 47.4% from the field and 34.1% from three-point range in 67 games.

Real App wrote (on December 20, 2025): “Will Richard just had the most efficient 20-point game by a rookie in Warriors history.”

Richard’s College Career

Richard played his freshman season at Belmont before spending his final three years at Florida.

His career averages were 11.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 46.3% from the field and 35.5% from three-point range in 141 games.

In 2025, Richard helped lead Florida to the National Championship.

Warriors Ahead Of Lakers Visit

The Warriors are the tenth seed in the Western Conference with a 37-42 record in 79 games.

They have won four out of their last ten games.

At home, the Warriors have gone 22-18 in 40 games at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

After the Lakers, the Warriors will play their final two games against the Sacramento Kings and LA Clippers.

They are coming off a year where they lost in the second round of the 2025 NBA playoffs.

The Warriors will have to win two elimination games next week (in the play-in tournament) to make the 2026 playoffs.

ESPN’s Anthony Slater wrote: “The Warriors are now locked into the 10th seed. They’ll need to win two road games next week to get into the playoffs and a 1 v 8 matchup with the Thunder.”
