On Thursday evening, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers played the Denver Nuggets in Colorado.
The Lakers lost by a score of 120-113.
James finished the loss with 16 points, five rebounds, eight assists, three steals and one block while shooting 7/11 from the field and 0/2 from three-point range in 34 minutes of playing time.

Despite the loss, James made incredible NBA history.

After the game, James made a heartfelt statement when he met with the media (via Spectrum SportsNet).
James: “Just being linked and my name being mentioned with some of the greatest to ever play this game. It’s always been humbling… It’s a pretty cool thing. I grew up watching, reading, idolizing a lot of the greats. If I ever was able to be apart of the NBA, I wanted to put myself in a position where I could be named with some of the greats.”

James is still among the top players in the league (despite turning 41 in December).
He is averaging 21.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 50.4% from the field and 31.3% from three-point range in 44 games.
The four-time NBA Champion suffered an injury scare during Thursday’s loss.
ESPN’s Dave McMenamin wrote: “LeBron James took a spill under the basket after scoring that last layup and absorbing some contact from Nikola Jokic. He subbed out of the game after a Lakers’ timeout. He appears to be getting his left elbow worked on by Lakers athletic trainer Mike Mancias on the bench.”

The Lakers are now 37-25 in 62 games, which has them as the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
They have gone 5-5 over their last ten games.
On Friday night, the Lakers will return home to host the Indiana Pacers in Los Angeles.
