NBA Star Victor Wembanyama Made History In Hornets-Spurs Game

On Saturday afternoon, the San Antonio Spurs played the Charlotte Hornets in Texas.

Victor Wembanyama made his return to the lineup, finishing with 32 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and four blocks while shooting 13/24 from the field and 5/10 from three-point range in 31 minutes of playing time.

The Spurs also won by a score of 115-102.

Victor Wembanyama Made NBA History Against Hornets

In addition to his big day, Wembanyama also made history.

The NBA wrote: “Victor Wembanyama has totaled 165 points, 57 rebounds, and 19 blocks over his last 5 games, becoming the first player to hit those marks in any 5-game run since Yao Ming in December 2006 🤯”

Wembanyama is now averaging 24.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 3.0 blocks per contest while shooting 50.7% from the field and 36.5% from three-point range in 52 games.

Spurs Rolling In 2026

The Spurs are on the verge of ending their five-year playoff drought, as they are the second seed in the Western Conference with a 49-18 record in 67 games.

They have won eight out of their last ten (and are an incredible 26-7 at home).

Following the Hornets, the Spurs will play their next game on Monday when they travel to California for a showdown with the LA Clippers.

Hornets This Season

On the other side, the Hornets dropped to 34-34 in 68 games, which has them as the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference.

They have still won seven out of their last ten games.

Following the Spurs, the Hornets will host the Miami Heat on Tuesday.
