The media, ownership, and several members of the Buffalo Bills joined today to welcome in new head coach Joe Brady at his introductory press conference. It was an emotional day that outlined the new direction for the Bills franchise after moving on from long-time head coach Sean McDermott despite the relative success during his tenure.
When Brady and the brass were done delivering their promises of the future, franchise quarterback Josh Allen took the stand to share some words. Allen arrived in a walking boot with crutches under his arms.
Before praising his new head coach, he provided fans with a much-needed injury update.
“Bills QB Josh Allen said that he broke bone in foot — fifth metatarsal — and that is what he had cleaned up on Monday morning in Birmingham, per Brandon Beane,” ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg reported from the scene. “He said it was an older injury that re-aggravated vs. the Browns.”
Josh Allen Says He Would Play Tomorrow
Despite the sad sight of your franchise quarterback on crutches, Allen made a point of telling fans they do not need to worry about him.
Just three days removed from his procedure, Allen told fans that he would take the field tomorrow if he could.
“I’m not even lying — if we had to play a game this week, I would find a way to play,” Allen said.
He followed that up with his usual messaging, saying the foot injury is “a little bit painful” but still denying its severity.
