Travis Kelce is officially coming back to the Kansas City Chiefs, signing a new contract during a busy season in his life that includes preparations for his wedding with Taylor Swift.
But the future Hall of Fame tight end is also facing some bad news in his other major career venture. Kelce and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes have come together to open the 1587 Prime restaurant, a Kansas City steakhouse that has quickly become a popular spot in the city.
The steakhouse is now facing some bad news, however, after a viral review called into question its service and food options.
Travis Kelce’s Business Venture Hit With Rough Review
The venture for Kelce and Mahomes has largely been a success since opening in September 2025, garnering big crowds and serving as a meeting spot for the Chiefs players. Kelce and Swift have frequented the establishment, which became a place of celebration for members of the team.
As The Daily Mail reported, the restaurant is now getting some very bad press in the other direction. The outlet noted that an online review shared in TikTok is calling out 1587 Prime, with the woman posting the review calling it “the worst fine-dining experience” of her life.
The person noted that their drinks arrived late and a member of the wait staff didn’t check back for 20 minutes after the order came in wrong.
‘The fried chicken arrived before our drinks did and it was not good, it was not worth the $25,” she said. “Then the meal came out. We had $15 steak sauce ordered and they did not come, they forgot them. By the time they came, my friend had almost finished her steak.”
The experience got worse from there, the person noted.
“My $100 steak was incorrectly cooked,” she said. “Couldn’t tell the server, you couldn’t even find the server to save your life. So just had to go with it, I guess. The fastest thing our server did was collect the bill. Our $650 bill.”
While Mahomes and Kelce’s restaurant has also gotten plenty of good reviews, the viral nature of this video and the attention is has generated is an unwanted distraction for the pair as they seek to bring the Chiefs back to the playoffs.

Kelce may not have much attention to focus on his restaurant venture. He just signed a three-year deal to return to the Chiefs, though he is expected to take it year-by-year as he contemplates retirement.
As the tight end prepares for the start of offseason practices in the coming weeks, he and Swift are also finalizing details for their wedding. A new report from DeuxMoi suggested that the couple may not wait until their reported wedding date of June to tie the knot.
The report added that “insiders point to a ceremony expected sooner rather than later.” It claimed that invitations for the Kelce-Swift wedding have already gone out with “very little information attached,” with a note to attendees to keep their schedules open as the final date would be shared with them later.
