NFL fans will have to wait a bit for the playoffs to resume as there is no Monday Night Football game on TV today, January 19, 2026. The good news is there is a massive college football game fans can watch in place of the NFL’s normal weekly spot.

Indiana takes on Miami in the national championship tonight at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on ESPN. The NFL playoffs resume on Sunday, January 25, with the NFC and AFC Championship games.

The AFC Championship kicks off the January 25, schedule as the New England Patriots take on the Denver Broncos at 3 p.m. Eastern on CBS. Denver will start Jarrett Stidham at quarterback against New England with Bo Nix sustaining a season-ending ankle injury.

To close out the conference playoff matchups, the Seattle Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams at 6:30 p.m. Eastern on Fox.

All this leads to Super Bowl 2026 in San Francisco on Sunday, February 8, at 6:30 p.m. Eastern on NBC.

There are no more NFL Monday Night Football games this season. Just three NFL playoff games remain, including the Super Bowl.

All three postseason games will take place on Sundays. The AFC and NFC Championship games are on Sunday, January 25. Super Bowl Sunday takes place on February 8.


When Does the College Football Season Start in 2026?

The national championship brings excitement, but there is also some sadness as college football fans are headed for a long offseason. There is a soft launch of the 2026 college football schedule with Week 0 on August 29.

The college football season really gets started on Saturday, September 5, with a full schedule of Week 1 games. As for the national championship, Indiana is a 7.5-point favorite over Miami, per FanDuel.
