The Florida Panthers, to the likeness of Carolina Hurricanes fans, are in freefall in the Atlanta Division. After several recent losses, TSN NHL reporter Pierre LeBrun reported that Florida has decided to be sellers at the NHL trade deadline and is listening to offers on UFAs on the roster.

That includes back-to-back Stanley Cup-winning goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky. But does Bobrovsky make sense for this Carolina team?

The 37-year-old Bobrovsky is posting career-lows in some statistical categories, but his pedigree and experience make him an attractive trade candidate.

Would Sergei Bobrovsky be a Good Fit in Carolina?

While the Carolina Hurricanes need to be searching for a goalie to pair with Brandon Bussi and Freddie Anderson, in order to make a Bobrovsky trade work, it would have to be a low asking price.

And would the Hurricanes even be able to sign Sergei after the 2026 playoff run? It’s likely.

There are also some rumors that the Blues’ Jordan Binnington might be a potential goaltender option that’s on the trade market. While most of the summers

Will the Panthers Actually Sell?

It’s been a tough year for the Florida Panthers, who have suffered a bit of a consecutive Stanley Cup trophy-winning hangover.

Highly doubt any Hurricanes fans will be losing any sleep over this fact, but it does raise the question of whether the team will actually sell or not, and even if they did, would the Hurricanes be a trade partner?

That’s unlikely, because over the past two seasons, it’s consistently been the Hurricanes and Panthers as the best teams in the Eastern Conference.

However, what the Hurricanes do in the next couple of days will be very important from a season outlook perspective. There’s only one month to go in the regular season, and they will certainly have one of, if not the most, favorable seeds in the conference.
