The last two games have truly been something special to watch with Atlanta Dream star player Angel Reese.
On Sunday, Reese missed a potential game-winning layup against the Indiana Fever, and the Fever beat the Dream in overtime. Reese responded with 21 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 assists in the 97-82 win over the Las Vegas Aces earlier in the week.
Things got even better for Reese against the Los Angeles Sparks, as the Dream blew them out 124-88. Reese was the star of the game with an incredible performance, finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals, and shooting 9-for-9 from the field with 2 three-pointers.

Reese made a ton of history in the win over the Sparks. She first broke the WNBA record for offensive rebounds in a season with 173. Reese is also the third player in league history with a 20-point double-double while shooting 100% from the field.
After the game, Dream head coach Karl Smesko praised his star player’s performance. Smesko also shared his thoughts on Reese fighting back from a tough loss to the Fever with two great games in a row.
“She’s had two excellent games since then. Today was just outstanding, and hopefully it’s just something to build on from here.”
This season, Reese is averaging 15.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. She currently leads the WNBA in rebounding and is third in steals per game.
Nobody is Slowing Down Angel Reese After Two Straight Stellar Games

Reese has done a fantastic job responding to the critics with two great performances. She is proving herself as the WNBA’s best defensive player and a force in the paint.
Atlanta is now in a really good position, as the Dream increase their lead in the fifth seed. The Dream currently have a 23-13 record and are just a half-game behind the Indiana Fever for fourth in the standings.
It’s going to take more performances like that from Reese in order to put the Dream in a good situation for the postseason. They face an interesting next four games before the World Cup break.
The Dream are on the road two more times, facing the Phoenix Mercury and the Sparks again. After that, they are at home against the Portland Fire and Minnesota Lynx.
This is the Dream’s shot to gain ground in the standings, with three of the four teams outside the playoff picture. Expect more historical performances from Reese and the Dream over the next two months-plus before the WNBA’s postseason starts up.
