Things got a bit tense during the Indiana Fever‘s game against the Chicago Sky on Sunday at Wintrust Arena.
Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom was in attendance and got into a verbal confrontation with Sky guard Natasha Cloud late in the third quarter. Cloud nearly went to the sideline to get into Freedom’s face before security and teammates held her back.
Freedom, who declared for next year’s WNBA draft after declaring himself as a woman, was ejected from the game following the incident.

Speaking to Jackson Thompson of Fox News, Enes Kanter Freedom opened up about what happened between him and Natasha Cloud. Freedom revealed what Cloud told him and was surprised by the hostility shown, despite plenty of young fans in attendance.
“Sophie Cunningham shot a three, and I put my hands up to celebrate,” Freedom said. “Literally a couple of possessions later, Natasha came back and started screaming and yelling and said, ‘She’s not gonna sleep with you.’ And I was like, ‘I am not trying to sleep with her. I’m just here to protect women and support her.
“After that, she started yapping and she started walk towards me. I got up and I was like, ‘I’m here to protect women, and that’s all.’ She started to use heavy language. She actually started to cuss. I was very shocked (because) there were a lot of kids and there were a lot of teenagers at that game. I just cannot believe that she was just cussing and using those f-bombs in front of these kids.”

Freedom added that’s when security came in and asked him to leave without giving him an explanation.
The former No. 3 pick was booed at the Wintrust Arena, though he took some pictures with fans and had some support before the game.
Natasha Cloud Breaks Silence on Enes Kanter Freedom Incident

After the Chicago Sky’s 113-90 loss to the Indiana Fever, Natasha Cloud was unavailable to speak to the media. Cloud was unable to address what happened between her and Enes Kanter Freedom.
However, Cloud broke her silence on social media and shared a message about love after the game.
“To every trans kid/person, You are apart of MY community & tribe. You belong. You’re loved, you’re seen, you’re perfect as you are. & you will always be protected by me,” Cloud wrote on Threads.
Cloud also received support from Sky head coach Tyler Marsh, who stood by his player in his postgame media availability.
“I told her that we all embrace her as someone that protects our team, and protects people that need to be protected. Tash is always gonna stand on that. … We stand for Tash,” Marsh said.
It’s unclear what the WNBA would do moving forward since Freedom was technically a fan and was confronted by a player. However, the league would also need to address the big elephant in the room more emphatically before next year’s draft.
