Although Tom Hardy does have television experience, the British actor's success on the big screen makes us think of him more as a movie star. He's returning to television though, with Taboo, a new period drama that debuts on FX at 10 p.m. ET on January 10, 2017. The series runs eight episodes and he created it with his father, Edward "Chips" Hardy, and his Locke director, Steven Knight. The series is also co-produced by Ridley Scott.
, Hardy plays James Keziah Delaney, who was presumed dead in Africa. In 1814, he returns to London to find his father deceased and the family's shipping company in shambles. He hopes to capitalize on England's wars with France and the young U.S. to prop it up and compete with the East India Company.
