With Rory McIlroy out with a ruptured ligament in his ankle, Masters and U.S. Open champion Jordan Spieth is the sportsbooks’ favorite to win the British Open, which tees off Thursday at the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland.
Spieth has never played a competitive round at St. Andrews, but is currently the 9/2 favorite.
Dustin Johnson, who missed putt on the 18th allowed Spieth to win the U.S. Open last month, is at 11/1, ahead of Rickie Fowler (16/1) and Justin Rose (18/1).
