Teodo (back) has allowed three runs (two earned) on zero hits and three walks while recording three outs through his first two relief appearances at Triple-A Round Rock. He's also hit three batters and has thrown three wild pitches. Before the Rangers optioned him to minor-league camp March 2, Teodo had been tending to a back injury early in spring training that prevented him from making any Cactus League appearances. Teodo was apparently able to move past the issue ahead of the start of the Triple-A season, and he'll be primed to fill a key relief role for Round Rock in 2026. The right-hander has gotten off to a rough start through his first two appearances and will need to show improved control over an extended period before earning his first big-league call-up.
The Rangers optioned Teodo (back) to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday. Teodo has been slow-played this spring following last season's back issues, as he's been throwing off a mound but has not appeared in a Cactus League game. It's unclear whether he will be ready to go at the beginning of the minor-league season. Teodo made a full-time move to a relief role in 2025 but struggled during his time with Round Rock, holding a 9.00 ERA and 23:17 K:BB over 18 innings. He's got a big arm but has strides to make with his control and durability.
Teodo (back) threw a bullpen session Tuesday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports. Tuesday marked the first time that Teodo had thrown off a mound all spring, as the Rangers have taken a deliberate approach with the 25-year-old righty while he works his way back from a back issue that kept him out for more than two months last season. Teodo is entering his second season as a member of the Rangers' 40-man roster but has yet to make his MLB debut. He posted a 9.00 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 23:17 K:BB in 18 innings with Triple-A Round Rock in 2025 and will likely be headed back to the affiliate to begin the 2026 campaign.
