Miller earned a save against the Rangers on Tuesday, striking out two batters over a scoreless inning of work. Leiter had just a one-run lead to work with when he entered in the ninth frame, but he breezed through a 1-2-3 inning on just 13 pitches. The right-hander recorded the Athletics' first save of the season March 31 against Atlanta, but he had blown both of his subsequent save chances (each of which were eighth-inning appearances) coming into Tuesday. Over the past week, Joel Kuhnel posted two saves for the team while Hogan Harris recorded one, so it's anyone's guess who will get the next opportunity. The Athletics' closer situation appears to be a full-fledged committee, making it tough to approach from a fantasy angle.

Mark Leiter: Breaking News
Surrenders four runs
Leiter (0-1) blew the save and took the loss in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Yankees. He allowed four runs on four hits and no walks with no strikeouts over two-thirds of an inning. Leiter entered in the eighth inning with a two-run cushion but quickly gave it up, highlighted by a two-run homer from Amed Rosario that gave the Yankees the lead. The veteran right-hander has now recorded a blown save in each of his past two appearances and owns a 10.38 ERA and 2.54 WHIP through 4.1 innings. Leiter is still the only Athletics reliever to record a save this season, but with a closer-by-committee setup and a lack of defined roles in the bullpen, blow-up outings like Tuesday's hurt his chances of seeing consistent high-leverage opportunities.
Charged with blown save Sunday
Leiter was charged with a blown save Sunday against the Astros, allowing one hit and one walk across one inning. After Scott Barlow was unable to retire any of the four batters he faced to begin the eighth inning, Leiter was brought on with a 9-7 lead and runners on second and third. Leiter walked Yordan Alvarez to load the bases and allowed a game-tying, two-run single to Cam Smith two batters later. Leiter still owns the Athletics' lone save through nine games and has a 2.45 ERA across 3.2 innings.
