Megan Helfrich is the wife of Oregon Ducks head coach Mark Helfrich. Being the wife of a successful college football head coach is difficult as it is, but being the wife of a head coach of one of the nation’s current top five programs where your husband works 16 hours a day and dedicates his life to the sport. That’s difficult.

The couple have made their home in the great Northwest for their entire lives.

Megan is originally from Berkeley, Oregon, and her and Mark are currently living in the town of Eugene — where the Ducks play, obviously.


2. Mark First Met Megan While Visiting His Older Brother John…

John Helfrich went to Oregon, and, coincidentally, that’s where Megan was going to school as well. Mark was studying at Southern Oregon, so on a visit to his brother he met Megan and both hit it off immediately.


3. …And John Eventually Went on to Marry Megan’s Sister

Each of the pair of couple’s are each other’s in-laws.


4. Mark and Megan Have 2 Children Together

Mark and his wife Megan have two children, a 7-year-old son Max, and a daughter, 3-year-old Maggie.


5. Megan Has Been Supportive of Her Husband Long Before He Became Head Coach

Megan is incredibly supportive of Mark, and works through the stress of raising a family as he works a grueling 16-hour-a-day job with one of the nation’s premier football programs. In 2012, when he was offensive coordinator, Mark praised his wife for what she does:

“It’s difficult. But just like anybody you have to prioritize as best you can. My wife is awesome, and she tries to get here whenever they can.”
