Japan’s quest to repeat as Women’s World Cup champions was kept alive with a Mana Iwabuchi goal in the 87th minute in a 1-0 victory over Australia in a quarterfinal Saturday.

The Japanese squad will face England, which got two early goals and held on to knock off host country Canada 2-1 in another quarter.

This is England’s first-ever trip to the semis.

The Japan-England semifinal match is set for Wednesday, July 1, from Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Canada.

It will air on FOX Sports 1 at 7 p.m. Eastern. The pregame show starts at 6 p.m.

The winner advances to the championship match on Sunday, July 5, at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, to meet the USA or Germany, which is the other semifinal.
