Just a few days after being re-elected, Sepp Blatter is resigning as FIFA President. Blatter says a committee will decide who his replacement will be and also has suggested term limits.

According to Deadspin, the election will be between December and March. So who will replace Blatter? Prince Ali bin Hussein was the only one to run against Blatter in last week’s FIFA election. Newsweek is reporting that he will run again.

Prince Ali told CNN he would have re-signed immediately if he were in Blatter’s position.

According to the International Business Times, Prince Ali is 39 years old and from Jordan. He is currently the FIFA Vice President for Asia. Prince Ali has described himself as “a straightforward person with straight-forward ideas and ethics.” We will be awaiting to see if Prince Ali makes a formal announcement on his interest in being the new president in light of the recent news.
