Did CJ Wilson Lose Fingers in a Fireworks Accident?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cornerback CJ Wilson’s football career may be in jeopardy after suffering a hand injury during the Fourth of July weekend. A statement released by the Bucs read:

“We are aware that C.J. was involved in an accident that occurred over the July 4th holiday. It is our understanding that the injury occurred to one of his hands and our primary concern at this moment is for his long-term health. We have been in contact with C.J. and are continuing to monitor the situation.”

According to The Tampa Tribune, Wilson had to be hospitalized throughout the holiday weekend following the accident. However, as of Wednesday he had been released. As for how many fingers he has left, the Lincoln Times-News reports that he lost two fingers according to a source close to the family.
