Perhaps the most intriguing event on tap at the Pan American Games Friday is the women’s 50-meter freestyle.

The one to watch will be 12-time Olympic medalist Natalie Coughlin, but she’s far from a runaway favorite. Also competing in the race is 21-year-old Canadian Chantal Van Landeghem, who upset Coughlin in the 100-meter freestyle earlier in the week, as well as Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace (Bahamas) and Etiene Medeiros (Brazil), each of whom broke the Pan American Games record in prelims.

The final takes place at about 9:08 p.m. ET.

Other events from Toronto on Friday include the men’s softball semifinal games, the last of the preliminary games in men’s baseball (including United States vs. Canada) and women’s basketball prelims.

Coverage on ESPN2 begins at 8 p.m. ET, while CBC has a pair of time slots on the day: 2-5 p.m. ET and 8-10 p.m. ET. Here’s how to watch online and on mobile:
