Is Demaryius Thomas Playing Tonight Against the Chiefs?

Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas hurt his hand in Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens and left the game. Thomas did re-enter the game but fans have been curious to know if he would be available for the Thursday night game against the Chiefs.

He is officially listed as probable on the Broncos injury report, and Denver Head Coach Gary Kubiak told reporters yesterday that Thomas is “fine”.

ESPN’s Stephania Bell reports that Thomas was not restricted by doctors at all this week and has been a full participant in each practice. There you have it fantasy owners, you are free to start Demaryius Thomas on your fantasy team although you can continue to check back here to see if his status has changed before kickoff.

The bigger question for fantasy players is whether Peyton Manning will be able to get Thomas the ball. Manning failed to throw a touchdown pass in the first game of the season and looked inaccurate throughout the game. Thomas finished with seven receptions for 60 yards. The good news is he was targeted 11 times in the game.

If Manning had been able to find him in the endzone during Week 1, Thomas would have put up his normal double digit fantasy numbers in most standard scoring leagues. Thomas’ fantasy value continues to be hinged to the play of his quarterback, but he is by far the best Broncos receiver. Expect Manning to connect with him on quick passes tonight and find the endzone for the first time this season.
