The last five times Stanford and USC have met on the gridiron, it has been decided by eight points or less. Many are expecting that trend to change at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Saturday night.

No. 6 USC, coming off dominant wins against Arkansas State and Idaho, are favored by 10 points at home against Stanford, which lost its opener against Northwestern before bouncing back against Central Florida.

Thus far, the Trojans offense has been humming. Cody Kessler has thrown for 650 yards, seven touchdowns and zero interceptions, while the running back duo of Ronald Jones II and Tre Madden have combined for 311 yards on a silly 9.4 yards per carry.

“Ronald Jones is going to be special,” linebacker Su’a Cravens said about the speedy true freshman. “He’s going to be very, very good.

That said, playing against Arkansas State and Idaho is a bit different than playing against Stanford’s typically physical defense, which has held opponents to just 3.1 yards per carry this season. Even though USC is favored by double digits, this will be a very good test for where their dynamic-looking offense really stands.

Kickoff for this in-state battle is at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. If you can’t get to a TV, here’s how to watch online or on mobile:
