That’s how long it’s been since Manchester United have scored a goal, a Martial header against CSKA Moscow two weeks ago. That game ended 1-1, and has been followed by three straight scoreless draws.
Both teams sit at four points, tied behind Group B leaders Wolfsburg (6). Three points would not only give United some space in the standings, it would be their first-ever win against a Russian side at Old Trafford.
A perennial UCL contender, CSKA Moscow has had the usual start to their domestic season. They are unbeaten in their last ten games, and have won 11 of their last 14 league fixtures. CSKA Moscow head man Leonid Slutski, who recently celebrated his six-year anniversary with the team, has stated that he wants to “play a counterattacking game” at Old Trafford.
