
The NBA has become synonymous with Christmas as it saves some of its best matchups of the season for the holiday. This year, the NBA Christmas schedule features five games all on national television. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are the marquee matchup of the day featuring a rematch of the 2015 NBA Finals at 5:00 p.m. ET on ABC. The slate also includes Pelicans-Heat, Bulls-Thunder, Spurs-Rockets and Clippers-Lakers. No. 10 Los Angeles Clippers
Record: 16-13
Standings: 2nd in the Pacific
Holiday Cheer: The Clippers have the talent and depth to compete with any team in the league, especially in the playoffs. The challenge is for the team to be playing its best basketball at the right time. (Getty)
Wish List: The Clippers have lost its last three games. They are not playing their best basketball but have the talent to get back on track. Their roster is built for the playoffs, and Clippers fans can expect a strong second half of the season.

No. 9 Chicago Bulls
Record: 15-11
Standings: 2nd in the Central
Holiday Cheer: The Bulls are still in the mix with the top teams in the East despite not hitting their stride yet. If everything comes together, the Bulls will emerge as one of the top teams in the East. (Getty)
Wish List: Chicago has hit a rough spot and are just 4-6 in their last ten games. Bulls fans are hoping that everything comes together and Chicago can secure a top playoff seed.

No. 8 Orlando Magic
Record: 17-12
Standings: Third in the Southeast
Holiday Cheer: Magic fans are thankful that their team is no longer in the NBA basement. The team always had the talent but needed a coach that could bring it all together. Scott Skiles has done that and the young team has improved immensely. (Getty)
Wish List: A playoff berth would go a long way to building momentum for the young Orlando team. They are well within reach of that goal and even have a shot at a top-four seed.

No. 7 Toronto Raptors
Record: 18-12
Standings: First in the Atlantic
Holiday Cheer: Toronto finds themselves at the top of the Atlantic division. They are one of the many teams in the East in the running for a top playoff seed. (Getty)
Wish List: The Raptors have been one of the better teams in the East but have yet to make the jump over teams like the Cavs. Raptors fans hope this can be the year they become an elite team.

No. 6 Miami Heat
Record: 16-11
Standings: 2nd in the Southeast
Holiday Cheer: The Heat are enjoying a great start to the season and have a healthy squad for the first time in a long time. Last season's trade for Goran Dragic has given Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh much needed help in the post-Lebron era. (Getty)
Wish List: Like many teams with a veteran core, the Heat are wishing for great health for the second half of the NBA season. Wade and Bosh have endured injuries over the past two seasons which has prohibited Miami from competing at the highest level.

No. 5 Atlanta Hawks
Record: 19-12
Standings: 1st in the Southeast
Holiday Cheer: The Hawks have found their footing and are one of the hottest NBA teams. Atlanta fans are hoping for another season like the Hawks game them last season. (Getty)
Wish List: Unlike last season, the Hawks find themselves in a heated playoff race in a much improved Eastern Conference. They have a narrow lead in the Southeast and hope they can continue to hold off teams like the Heat and Magic.

No. 4 Oklahoma City Thunder
Record: 20-9
Standings: 1st in the Northwest
Holiday Cheer: Billy Donovan has the Thunder playing well. The question is whether they can continue to take their play to the level of the Warriors and Spurs. (Getty)
Wish List: The Thunder's star duo of Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant have battled injuries the past few seasons. Nobody in the West wants to face a healthy Thunder team in the playoffs. Thunder fans are using all their holiday wishes on sustained health for Oklahoma City.

No. 3 Cleveland Cavaliers
Record: 19-7
Standings: First in the Central
Holiday Cheer: Lebron and company have the Cavs at the top of the East. The Cavs are showing they have what it takes to make another Finals run. (Getty)
Wish List: Kyrie Irving is back from injury and the Cavs are hoping he can remain healthy for the rest of the season. Health played a big part in their inability to win a championship last season.

No. 2 San Antonio Spurs
Record: 25-5
Standings: 1st in the Southwest division
Holiday Cheer: San Antonio has a commanding lead in the Southwest division. Spurs fans received a big present this offseason when San Antonio signed LaMarcus Aldridge. The Spurs are nipping at the heels of the Warriors for the Western Conference. (Getty)
Wish List: Every season is supposed to be the end of the Spurs, but all they do is continue to win. San Antonio reloaded with Aldridge over the offseason and now need their veteran core to remain healthy.

No. 1 Golden State Warriors
Record: 27-1
Standings: 1st in the Pacific Division
Holiday Cheer: The Warriors are one bad game away from perfection. The defending champs have accomplished something that not many teams coming off a championship have been able to do. They are playing with a chip on their shoulder despite just putting an NBA Finals trophy in their cabinet.(Getty)
Wish List: The Chicago Bulls record of 72-wins is attainable as well as back-to-back championships. The Warriors hope that Santa comes to the West Coast again in June.
