Georgia takes on Penn State in the TaxSlayer Bowl. Georgia is 9-3 while Penn State is 7-5.

The Bulldogs are in a bit of transition with former head coach Mark Richt leaving for Miami. New coach Kirby Smart is still coaching for Alabama.

According to OddsShark, Georgia is favored by six points. The over-under is set at 43.5.

Both teams have struggled against the spread this season. The Bulldogs are 3-6 against the spread in their last nine games while the Nittany Lions are 1-5 in their last six games.

The total has gone under in five straight games for Georgia while it has gone over in four of Penn State’s last five games.

The OddsShark computer projects a 29.6-25.8 Georgia victory. The computer is taking the points and the over on the point total.

Heavy likes the points but also likes Penn State to win outright. It seems Penn State has more to play for which is key in bowl games. It might be quarterback Christian Hackenberg’s last game, and the team will be motivated to do well.

Georgia is in between coaching staffs. Expect that to show on the field as the Nittany Lions look to end the season on a high note.

Heavy’s Pick: Penn State 24 Georgia 20. Penn State +6. Over on the point total.
