Liverpool are looking for even more Cup success this week, as they host West Ham in fourth-round FA Cup action. After advancing to the League Cup finals by beating Stoke on Penalties, the Reds and Hammers are the only two Premier League clubs squaring off this early in the competition. Liverpool has had the historical success but West Ham have gotten the better of Liverpool recently, winning in three of their previous four meetings.
West Ham swept Liverpool in the league this season, the first time it’s happened in 52 years. Led by strong play from Dimitri Payet, West Ham have risen to sixth in the BPL table, and were unbeaten in eight straight before their recent loss to Newcastle. In addition to sweeping Arsenal, they’ve also recorded victories away at both Arsenal and Manchester City.
