WATCH: Stephen Gostkowski Misses Extra Point vs. Broncos

Stephen Gostkowski hadn’t missed an extra point in nine years.

This one is going to hurt for awhile.

The New England Patriots kicker, one of the most accurate legs in the game, failed to convert on the PAT early in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday afternoon and it helped lead to his squad’s 20-18 loss to the Denver Broncos. Check out the moment here:

Coming into the Championship tilt, Gostkowski had connected on an NFL-record 523 straight PATs and was a perfect 60-for-60 in the postseason. The last time Gostkowski had missed a POT was his rookie season.

He went on to make his other two kicks during the game; field goals of 46 and 38 yards. Earlier this year, Gostkowski had passed Adam Vinatieri for the most points scored in New England playoff history.
