Today makes it one week until Super Bowl 50, as the Broncos and Panthers are on their way to Santa Clara. The teams enjoyed a home week of practice and preparation, and have now been sent off to Santa Clara for a full week of prep and press coverage before the big game on February 7th at Levi’s Stadium.
After this first week, the elation of Championship Sunday has faded and both teams need to get ready for the final game. Super Week offers plenty of distractions, and both teams have the personalities to make the buildup interesting. Media Day should be great for the likes of Newton and Manning, but players like Josh Norman, Von Miller and Aqib Talib.
Then there’s an actual game to be played next week. While betting money has poured in for the Panthers, the Broncos have thrived as an underdog this season. Carolina is favored by as many as six points at some betting sites, but could mean that the sharks, bringing the big money, are taking Denver.
One man that might not watch Super Bowl 50? How about John Fox, current head coach of the Chicago Bears. Fox was the head coach in Carolina for nine seasons, before he was fired and replaced by current coach Ron Rivera. He then went to Denver, ehere he was the boss for four seasons before being replaced by Gary Kubiak. After a 6-10 season in Chicago, Fox can now watch from home as his two previous employers battle for the NFL’s ultimate prize.
