Recent Chicago Bulls center Nick Richards is gaining attention from the Miami Heat, as he remains available on the NBA free agency market.

After spending some time with the Bulls during the 2025-2026 NBA season, Richards is searching for his next landing spot.

According to the Miami Herald, the Heat have “kicked around the idea” of adding Richards. The veteran center has reportedly worked out with Heat players at the team’s facility, while dressed in Heat gear, but hasn’t received an offer so far.

While that seems to be a hint that Richards is on his way to becoming a reserve center for Miami, once they figure out what’s going on with some of their other big-name targets, Richards landing with Miami for next season seems to be far from a lock.

The Phoenix Suns traded Richards to the Bulls on February 5, 2026.

He finished the 2025-2026 NBA season with 20 appearances and four starts. Seeing the court for 22.4 minutes per game,  Richards shot 52.3% from the field, averaging 9.4 points per game.

In addition to his scoring, Richards came down with 7.6 rebounds per game.

The 28-year-old big man is likely looking for a competitive situation at this stage of his career. It’s unclear if the Bulls had interest in bringing him back or not, but Chicago might not fit his desired timeline.
