INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - JUNE 13: Tyrese Haliburton #0 of the Indiana Pacers celebrates during the first quarter against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game Four of the 2025 NBA Finals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on June 13, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Tyrese Haliburton may not have gotten a championship ring, but all is not lost.

The Indiana Pacers star celebrated a major milestone on Monday, announcing his engagement to longtime girlfriend Jade Jones in a heartfelt social media post.

On Instagram, the 25-year-old Haliburton is seen kneeling on the court at Iowa State University’s Hilton Coliseum, where the couple first met. Haliburton is noticeably wearing a boot on his right leg after tearing his Achilles in the NBA Finals last month.

The words “Will you marry me?” are illuminated next to the couple, surrounded by red roses and balloons.

“The place where our story started, and where our next chapter begins,” Haliburton’s caption read.

Tyrese Haliburton Celebrated His Engagement on Instagram

Haliburton and Jones have been in a relationship since 2019 when they were students at Iowa State, according to People Magazine.

In 2020, Haliburton was selected 12th overall by the Sacramento Kings in the NBA Draft. He was dealt with Buddy Hield to Indiana before the 2022 trade deadline in exchange for Domantas Sabonis, Justin Holiday, Jeremy Lamb and draft compensation.

Jones, a former cheerleader at Iowa State, has become a fixture at Pacers games since Haliburton’s arrival, consistently seated courtside. She went viral during the Finals for her interactions with Oklahoma City Thunder fans.

After Jones said yes to Haliburton’s proposal, the couple took several other photos on Iowa State’s campus, showing off Jones’ new bling.

In April, the couple celebrated six years together, with Haliburton posting two photos of themselves on Instagram.

“6 years, countless memories, and a lifetime to go,” Haliburton wrote. “I fall for you more everyday, I got you forever. Love you J.”

Pacers Star Will Miss Entire 2026 Season

Haliburton followed up back-to-back All-Star appearances by averaging 18.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals while shooting 47.3% this season. His 9.2 assists per game ranked third in the NBA. He was named All-NBA Third Team.

The 6-foot-5 point guard was even better in the postseason, stepping up in the clutch to carry Indiana on a surprising Finals run. In 23 playoff games, he averaged 17.3 points, 8.6 assists and 5.3 rebounds.

Unfortunately, it didn’t end as hoped, as Haliburton tore his Achilles tendon early in Game 7. The Thunder went on to win 103-91, securing a 4-3 series victory and the franchise’s first title since relocating from Seattle.

Haliburton underwent surgery on June 23 and is expected to miss the entire 2026 season.
