UPDATE: Marcus Smart has been ruled out.
For Thursday’s game, Smart is officially listed as questionable on the injury report.
Dan Woike of The Athletic wrote: “No Jaxson Hayes but Marcus Smart has been upgraded to questionable and LeBron James will play against the Warriors”
Smart signed with the Lakers over the offseason.
He is currently averaging 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 39.9% from the field and 33.6% from three-point range in 60 games.
Smart’s Productive NBA Career

Smart was once among the best role players in the NBA when he was with the Boston Celtics (2014-23).
In 2022, he won the Defensive Player of The Year Award.
The former Oklahoma State star helped lead the Celtics to the Eastern Conference finals five times (and NBA Finals once).

In addition to the Lakers and Celtics, Smart has also had stints with the Washington Wizards and Memphis Grizzlies over 12 seasons.

Lakers And Warriors Ahead Of Thursday

The Lakers have dealt with a lot of injuries as of late, and come into their matchup with the Warriors in the middle of a three-game losing streak.
They are still the fourth seed in the Western Conference with a 50-29 record in 79 games.
On the road, the Lakers have gone 24-16.
Following the Warriors, they will play their final two games against the Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz.

On the other side, the Warriors enter play as the tenth seed with a 37-42 record in 79 games.
They have gone 4-6 over their last ten (and are 22-18 at home).
