The Minnesota Timberwolves lost Ayo Dosunmu during their Game 2 battle against the San Antonio Spurs.
During the first half, the veteran guard left the game with a heel-related issue. He was questionable to return, but the Timberwolves officially ruled him out as they fired up the fourth quarter.
The state of the game might’ve played a part, as the Timberwolves struggled mightily in their second game of the series.
Ayo Dosunmu Is Dealing With A New Concern
Entering Wednesday night’s Game 2 action between the Timberwolves and the Spurs, Ayo Dosunmu was listed as questionable. Lately, the veteran guard has been dealing with a right calf injury.
Although Dosunmu was cleared for action, he left the game with heel pain. No other diagnosis has been revealed as the fourth quarter plays on.
Dosunmu left the game after seeing the court for 10 minutes. He struggled during his short stint, missing all four of his shots from the field. Dosunmu registered zero points, and came up with one steal and one block. He was a minus-six on the night.
Wednesday night’s Game 2 action was Dosunmu’s first game since Game 5 of the first-round series against the Denver Nuggets.
The last time he saw the court, Dosunmu scored 18 points in a 125-113 loss. The Timberwolves played without Dosunmu in the following game, and managed to close out the Nuggets’ season with a 110-98 victory.
When the Timberwolves opened up the series against the Spurs earlier this week, they secured a tight 104-102 victory in the absence of Dosunmu.
The veteran guard will be a name to keep an eye on moving forward, as he’s now dealing with multiple lower-body setbacks before Game 3.
