The Philadelphia 76ers are getting the night off on Thursday as they prepare for a matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, April 3.
As the Sixers get ready for their matchup, the Timberwolves are in Michigan, working against the Detroit Pistons. Ahead of the action against the Eastern Conference’s top seed, the Timberwolves made a major decision regarding their injury report. They ruled out the young star, Anthony Edwards.
Edwards is currently dealing with two different setbacks, according to the injury report.

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome in his right knee, along with an undisclosed illness, is what placed Edwards on the injury report on Thursday night. While the door was left open for him to potentially play, the Timberwolves ultimately held him out.
Now, Edwards’ status against the 76ers comes into question ahead of Friday’s action.
The Last Time The Sixers And Timberwolves Battled

Back on February 22, the Sixers paid a visit to the Timberwolves.
At the time, the Timberwolves had Edwards on the court. On the other side, the 76ers were without Joel Embiid. Starting in the star big man’s absence was the veteran center, Andre Drummond.
Tyrese Maxey led the way for the 76ers. He checked in for 35 minutes and scored 39 points on 16-28 shooting from the field. He also dished out eight assists.
As for Edwards, he checked in for 34 minutes. The star guard had an efficient night, going 11-19 from the field to score 28 points. He also had three assists, two steals, and two blocks.
The Sixers defeated the Timberwolves 135-108.

Despite the recent history, the 76ers know that the Timberwolves are a major threat, especially with Edwards on the court. Right now, every game is critical for Philadelphia.
After a blowout win over the Washington Wizards, the 76ers jumped into sixth place in the Eastern Conference. They’ll need to keep the ball rolling in order to protect their standing.
The Sixers and the Timberwolves will tip off at 7 PM ET on Friday. Edwards’ initial status will be revealed on Friday afternoon.
