Vaki (knee) is listed as doubtful ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Packers. Vaki appeared to have moved past his knee issue after recording a full practice session Thursday. However, he downgraded to a DNP on Friday and will likely miss the Lions' Week 9 divisional matchup. With Vaki expected to be sidelined Sunday, Detroit's running back room will likely consist of David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs and Craig Reynolds.
Head coach Dan Campbell told reporters Friday that Paschal (illness) won't play in Sunday's matchup against the Packers, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports. Campbell noted that Paschal is expected to return to practice next week; however, he's now in line to miss his second consecutive game with an illness. With Paschal sidelined in Week 9, the Lions' defensive end room will consist of just James Houston, Patrick O'Connor and Isaiah Thomas.

The second-year linebacker didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday after sustaining an ankle injury in the Lions' Week 8 win over the Titans, so it's no surprise that he'll be sidelined in Week 9. Expect Trevor Nowaske or Jalen Reeves-Maybin to see increased work with Detroit's first-team defense in Rodriguez's stead.
Rodriguez (ankle) did not practice Thursday. Rodriguez injured his ankle during the Lions' Week 8 win over the Titans, but he was able to avoid a high-ankle sprain. Given it's an aggravated injury and he's logged consecutive DNPs this week, Rodriguez is unlikely to play against the Packers on Sunday. Should Rodriguez be sidelined, Trevor Nowaske would have the inside track on Ben Niemann to start at outside linebacker alongside Jack Campbell and Alex Anzalone.
Vaki (knee) was a full participant during Thursday's practice. Vaki was held out of Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury he likely picked up during the Lions' Week 8 win over the Titans. The injury doesn't appear to be severe, however, as he was able to practice without limitations Thursday. Barring any setbacks, Vaki will suit up and play in his usual special-teams role against the Packers on Sunday.
Goff (ankle) practiced fully Thursday. Goff was held out of Wednesday's session due to a sore ankle, but his return without limitations one day later paves the way for him to continue to lead the Lions offense. The reigning NFC Offensive Player of the Month will be taking on a Packers defense Sunday that has allowed the 14th-most yards per attempt (7.25) to opposing quarterbacks this season.
Goff (ankle) is on the field for Thursday's practice, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com Goff was a spectator for Wednesday's practice after he rolled his ankle in the Lions' blowout win over the Titans this past weekend, but his presence on the field at Thursday's session suggests his status for Sunday's game against the Packers is in no real jeopardy. The Lions will release their second Week 9 injury report Thursday, when it will be known whether Goff was a limited or full participant in practice.
