Campbell appears to have picked up a ribs injury in the Lions' Week 17 win over the 49ers, despite playing 100 percent of the team's defensive snaps and recording nine total tackles. His practice participation Thursday and Friday will likely provide the best indication of whether he can play through his ribs issue in the Week 18 matchup against the Vikings. The second-year linebacker from Iowa may see a lighter workload if he suits up Sunday, especially with the possibility of Alex Anzalone (forearm) returning from injured reserve.
Raymond (foot) was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's practice estimation. Raymond has missed the Lions' last five games due to a foot injury sustained in a Week 12 win over the Colts. However, he was designated to return from injured reserve Dec. 26 and practiced in full Wednesday, suggesting he's nearing a return to the field. Raymond must still be added to Detroit's active roster in order to play in Week 18, when the Lions face the Vikings.
Anzalone (forearm) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday. Anzalone was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's practice estimation, and Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that there's a realistic chance for the 30-year-old to make his return in the Lions' Week 18 matchup against the Vikings, a game that will decide the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Anzalone's practice participation Thursday and Friday will likely offer the best insight into whether he can suit up Sunday. He would be a significant addition to a Detroit linebacker corps already without Derrick Barnes (knee) and Malcolm Rodriguez (knee).
Campbell recorded nine total tackles (four solo) in Monday night's 40-34 win over San Francisco. Campbell was once again atop the stat sheet for Detroit, leading the team with nine takedowns in the victory. The linebacker has now registered at least nine tackles in six games this year, all of which have come in the Lions' last nine contests. On the season, Campbell has now compiled a team-high 125 total tackles (67 solo), including 1.5 sacks, while also adding a forced fumble and five passes defensed over 16 games.
Branch recorded seven total tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Monday night's 40-34 win over the 49ers. Branch was able to secure his first sack of the season, bringing down Brock Purdy in the fourth quarter. Additionally, the 23-year-old produced at least seven tackles for the third game in a row and seventh time overall in 2024. On the year, Branch has now compiled 103 total tackles (76 solo), including 1.0 sacks, a forced fumble and 15 passes defensed, including four interceptions, over 15 games.
Joseph recorded six total tackles (five solo) and two interceptions in Monday night's 40-34 win over San Francisco. Joseph was able snap his five-game streak without an interception, getting back on track in a big way versus the 49ers. The safety picked off Brock Purdy in third quarter before later adding another interception in the fourth quarter, both of which were passes intended for wide receiver Ricky Pearsall across the middle of the field. Joseph is now up to an NFL-leading nine interceptions on the season, one of which he returned for a touchdown. On the year, the safety has also compiled 77 total tackles (54 solo) while producing 12 passes defensed, including the nine interceptions, over 16 games.
Patrick did not garner a target while reeling in a two-point conversion in Monday night's 40-34 win over the 49ers. Patrick went without a catch for the second week in a row, though he did secure a two-point conversion on a pass from Jared Goff early in the third quarter. After compiling 19 receptions for 202 yards and three touchdowns over a five game stretch in November and December, Patrick has seen his production nearly vanish as the Lions have launched into the stretch run of the regular season. He remains their No. 3 wide receiver behind Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, but he is clearly not a major cog in Detroit's impressive offense.
