Taylor Swift is getting close to a milestone as her wedding date with Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs gets closer.

Taylor Swift is used to reaching milestones in her career, and she just hit another one as she prepares for her wedding with Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs. This landmark has to do with a song she released years ago, before she started dating Kelce.

Swift released her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” in October 2025, and she’s earned 14 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 over the course of her career, including two off the album, “The Fate of Ophelia” and “Opalite.” Now, one of her songs that never reached No. 1 is getting attention.

Swift signed her record deal at 15 and was finally able to get back her masters in 2025. That means her entire catalog, the old and new music, is hers.

“I want it because this is my handwritten diary entries from my whole life, these are the songs I wrote about every phase of my life, this is my photography, my music videos, most of which I funded, my artwork, everything I’ve ever done is in this catalog,” Swift said on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast in August 2025.

She was overjoyed with getting the masters back, saying on the show, “We’re in Kansas City, and I get a call from my mom, and she’s like, ‘You got your music.’ And I just very dramatically hit the floor for real balling my eyes out, just weeping.”

Classic Taylor Swift Song is Reaching a New Spotify Milestone

Now, Swift’s 2019 song, “Lover,” just reached 2 billion Spotify streams on Tuesday, March 17. As of Saturday, March 14, it’s at roughly 1.9 million, so all the playlist adds and radio spins helped push it over the top.

Swift wrote the song about her boyfriend at the time, boyfriend Joe Alwyn, was was the “magnetic force of a man” she describes in the track.

According to an interview with The New York Times about the song, Swift wrote “Lover” on a late night at home playing around on her piano in Nashville, Tennessee. After writing it, she took the song to producer Jack Antonoff, and the two crafted the final version in six hours. At the time, it also marked the first song Swift wrote by herself since “This Love” in 2014.

“In my head I had like, just the last two people on a dance floor at 3 a.m. swaying. Whatever that would sound like,” Swift told the outlet.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding Date is Approaching

While Swift and Kelce haven’t dropped details about the specific date of their wedding, Kelce did drop news about it during a Tuesday, March 10, appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.” Of course, they’re being secretive, to avoid having reporters crash their day.

On the show, he said that he and Swift plan to be husband and wife “before training camp.” The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t announced dates for their 2026 training camp yet, but it usually starts in mid-to-late July.

So, there’s no question now that these two will get married in 2026 and won’t be delaying it until 2027. Now, Kelce has two significant life events in 2026: getting married and returning to the Kansas City Chiefs for another season.
