Pro Football Sports Network's Jacob Infante predicted the Minnesota Vikings to sign former Green Bay Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas.

The Minnesota Vikings saw the team’s former defensive tackle Javon Hargrave sign with the Green Bay Packers in NFL free agency this offseason. The Vikings, though, could get back at their division rival with cornerback Rasul Douglas this summer.

That’s what Pro Football Sports Network’s Jacob Infante predicted to happen. Infante named the Vikings the place where Douglas will play the 2026 NFL season.

“The Dolphins needed a stopgap starting option at cornerback last year, and Rasul Douglas filled that role admirably,” wrote Infante. “He had two interceptions and ranked No. 15 in the league in PFSN’s CB Impact Scoring at 84.3. He’ll be 31 in August, so he’s hardly a long-term solution for any team, but he should get the chance to battle for a starting role.”

Douglas played parts of three seasons with the Packers. In 36 games, Douglas posted 174 combined tackles, 32 pass defenses and 10 interceptions.

This offseason, the veteran cornerback is still searching for a new team. During 2025, he registered 62 combined tackles, 13 pass defenses and two interceptions for the Miami Dolphins.

Could Vikings Sign Veteran CB Rasul Douglas?

Minnesota is a logical landing spot for a veteran cornerback this summer because of how the team approached the offseason at the position.

The Vikings didn’t add a cornerback until the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. Minnesota took Stephen F. Austin State cornerback Charles Demmings at No. 163 overall.

That was after only signing cornerback James Pierre in free agency.

Pierre has spent six seasons in the NFL. But he’s only made 13 starts. Douglas would bring a lot more starting experience to the Vikings defense.

Opposite Pierre, pundits expect fellow veteran Isaiah Rodgers to start at the other cornerback spot again. Byron Murphy is returning to be the team’s primary slot cornerback.

Murphy made the Pro Bowl during the 2024 campaign. But he didn’t have as impactful of a season during 2025.

The Vikings also have cornerbacks Marcus Allen, Da’Veawn Armstead, Tyreek Chappell, Dwight McGlothern, and Zemaiah Vaughn on the offseason roster.

How Douglas Took Off With Green Bay Packers

The 30-year-old cornerback began his career as a third-round pick for the Philadelphia Eagles. While he was mostly solid for the Eagles, Philadelphia waived Douglas before his rookie contract expired.

After a year with the Carolina Panthers, Douglas joined the NFC North with the Packers. In Green Bay, his career began to take off.

Douglas never made All-Pro or the Pro Bowl in Green Bay. But he was a valuable starter. In parts of three seasons with the Packers, Douglas started 28 games, which is his most for any NFL team in his career.

He registered five interceptions in his first season with the Packers during 2021. Douglas returned two of them for touchdowns.

The Packers traded the cornerback to the Buffalo Bills at the 2023 NFL trade deadline. He also spent the 2024 campaign with the Bills.

Last season, Douglas started 13 games for the Dolphins.

If the Vikings have any doubts about their starting cornerbacks for 2026, Douglas would be a quality addition on a short-term contract.

Minnesota could wait to see how its cornerback group looks in offseason workouts before signing Douglas. The Vikings will have their next organization practice on May 26.

The team’s mandatory minicamp is scheduled for June 9-11.
