Defensive lineman Brandon Graham has left open the possibility of returning to the Philadelphia Eagles again for 2026 but suggested there’s uncertainty around his future. However, Graham didn’t sound very uncertain when discussing the future of Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown this week.
Graham argued during his latest Unblocked podcast episode Thursday that Brown will return to Philadelphia for next season.
“I think so; I do. I really do think so,” Graham said, via InsidetheIggles’s Anthony Miller. “If Howie make a splash with the coordinator, I think it will probably spark some interest with people wanting to come back and have a real conversation on how you feel about this and all that because I know Howie don’t want to get rid of no good players.”
Brown’s future in Philadelphia is unclear after a season filled with drama around the receiver. It ended with a wild card loss at home in which Brown made a couple key drops.
Brown ended the 2025 regular season with 78 catches, 1,003 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
His receiving yards per game average dropped from 83 to 66.9. Brown also didn’t make either the Pro Bowl or All-Pro team for the first time since 2021.
The Right Offensive Coordinator Could Keep A.J. Brown Happy With Eagles?
There was so much drama around Brown during 2025 that it’s not entirely fair to blame demoted offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. But the first-year coordinator certainly didn’t help.
Several aspects of the Eagles offense weren’t as good with Patullo’s play-calling in 2025. For instance, Saquon Barkley’s rushing average dropped from 125.3 yards per game to 71.3.
It was unrealistic to expect Barkley to rush for 1,000 yards again. But more than 50 rushing yards fewer per game from the All-Pro placed the Eagles way behind their Super Bowl season production.
ESPN reported Patullo may stay on the Philadelphia coaching staff in another capacity. Patullo worked under Nick Sirianni starting in 2018 when the two were offensive assistants with the Indianapolis Colts. Patullo followed Sirianni to Philadelphia in 2021.
But the Eagles will have a new offensive coordinator/play-calling next season.
Under Patullo, the Eagles were 19th in points scored and 24th in yards during 2025. They were ranked in the bottom half of the league statistically in rushing and passing.
The Eagles were ranked inside the top 10 in yards and points scored every season from 2022-24.
Eagles Request Interview With Chicago Bears OC Declan Doyle: Report
Graham’s latest podcast episode hit YouTube the same day ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Eagles requested to interview Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle.
It’s very difficult to hire away a coordinator for another team for the same position. But there may be an opportunity for Doyle since Ben Johnson casts such a big shadow on the Bears offense.
The Philly Special’s Anthony DiBona wrote “Doyle could be available since he doesn’t call plays in Chicago.” That responsibility belongs to Johnson.
Heavy Sports’ Tony Adame argued the Eagles might be getting desperate for offensive coordinator candidates. Candidates such as Mike McDaniel and Eric Bienemy are off the board along with Drew Petzing and David Blough.
Brian Daboll likely remains a candidate, but he could fill the head coach opening with the Buffalo Bills.
To fix their Brown problem and keep the receiver in Philadelphia, the Eagles need to find the right offensive coordinator. Who that could be, though, remains to be seen.
