The San Francisco 49ers need to improve their pass rush so as not depend on Nick Bosa. As a result, the Niners are a name connected to Las Vegas RaidersMaxx Crosby, but one person believes any interest will fall on deaf ears.

FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer laid it out during an interview with Yahoo! Sports, explaining how certain players make their intentions unmistakably clear once they speak. “There’s a couple guys, if they tell you they’re playing, they’re playing,” Glazer said in an interview with Yahoo! Sports on Feb. 4. He then appeared to pass along Crosby’s mindset, saying, “‘I’m not going through another rebuild’.”

Asked directly whether that stance signals the end of Crosby’s time with the Raiders, Glazer did not hedge. “I do, he said. He went on to describe just how much traction the situation has gained around the league, noting that around 20 teams reached out to ask if the buzz was legitimate. Each time, Glazer’s answer was the same. “Yes, it’s real.”

The SF Standard’s David Lombardi also shared, in relation to that news, the Niners’ stance on Crosby.

“Yes, the 49ers will check with the Raiders on Maxx Crosby, Lombardi wrote on X on Feb. 4.

Nonetheless, NBC Sports Bay Area’s Bonta Hill is putting cold water on the 49ers winning any sweepstakes for Crosby if the Raiders decide to trade him.

“I don’t think the Raiders are interested in trading with the 49ers, Hill wrote on X on Feb. 4. “Niners offered a ton for Khalil Mack. They didn’t budge.”

Niners Told to Pursue Maxx Crosby or Myles Garrett

San Francisco pursuing a premier pass rusher should be atop their to-do list this offseason. While speaking to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco, former NFL player Shawne Merriman believes that San Francisco need to go for a home-run trade to land an edge rusher, either the Cleveland Browns‘ Myles Garrett or Crosby.

“If I’m the San Francisco 49ers this offseason, I’m going to take a run at Myles Garrett; I’m taking a run at Maxx Crosby [and] I’m taking a run at these guys because they’re an instant upgrade, Merriman told Maiocco.

“Nick Bosa comes back and nobody’s going to know how it is because what, his second or third injury now? I’ve been there, and after enough injuries you’re not the same player. I’m not saying this is going to be the case with him, but there should be some level of concern from the San Francisco 49ers front office on how he’s going to come back.”

49ers Urged to Make Move for Maxx Crosby

Recently, Mark Willard of 95.7 The Game believes the 49ers should pursue Crosby.

“If you want the big ticket out on the market, whether it’s free agency or trade name, that I would be obsessed with if I were a 49er fan, and I am, it’s Maxx Crosby, Willard said on Jan. 26 on 95.7 The Game. “If you could circle one player that’s a proven player, and you could find a way to make him a Niner, that’s my guy, Maxx Crosby.”
