T

he San Francisco 49ers are getting ready for a Super Bowl run. Finishing the regular season at 12-5 but narrowly missing out on the No. 1 seed in the NFC, the 49ers will hit the road to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round, where a win will keep their Super Bowl hopes alive. The playoffs are a whole new season, and the 49ers are ready to ensure that their season lasts until February.

But while the NFL playoffs for the 2025 season are the main focus, the final week of the regular season gave clarity on who the 49ers will face in 2026. Coming in third place in the NFC West this season, the 49ers will play a third place schedule and face a lot of teams that missed the playoffs this year– marking the second straight year in which the 49ers will get a relatively favorable schedule.

49ers’ Opponents for Next Season

Despite finishing with the same head-t0-head and division record as the Los Angeles Rams, the Rams held the tiebreaker for second place by virtue of holding a higher winning percentage over common opponents, forcing the 49ers to take third place in the division once again. The NFL schedule for next season will not come out until later in the spring, but we know which teams the 49ers will play at home and away.

The 49ers 2026 home opponents are as follows:

The 49ers 2026 away opponents are as follows:

When Should We Expect the Full Schedule?

Last season, the 2025 schedule was not fully revealed until May. 14, weeks after the NFL Draft and right around the time that minicamps happen. But even when the schedule comes out, there will be games that are not given a day or kickoff time, with the NFL known for flexing matchups late in the season.

But one thing is for sure, no matter what happens this season, 2026 will be a massive season for the 49ers. Facing major uncertainty over the roster, with the futures of players such as Jauan Jennings and Brandon Aiyuk up in the air, the franchise will look a lot different next season in their quest for a sixth Super Bowl title– in the event that they are unable to win it this season.
