Tennessee vs. Florida: Point Spread, Total & Prediction

Editor’s note: The odds below are courtesy of Heavy’s partners at OddsShark.

For the last decade, the Florida Gators have owned the Tennessee Volunteers. The Gators bring a 10-game winning streak with them into The Swamp as they face the Volunteers. Last season, the Gators needed a fourth-quarter comeback to beat the Vols.

Tennessee has a good offensive attack with quarterback Joshua Dobbs and running back Jalen Hurd. The Vols have leaned heavily on the running game with 738 rushing yards compared to 567 passing yards.

According to OddsShark, Tennessee is a one-point favorite on the road this weekend. The Volunteers are 2-1 on the season and 2-1 against the spread. The Gators come into the game 3-0 and 2-1 against the spread.

The line moved from Florida being the favorite earlier in the week with the announcement of the Gators suspending quarterback Treon Harris and cornerback Jalen Tabor. The Gators have alternated quarterbacks early in the season but Will Grier will get the majority of the snaps now that Harris is suspended.

OddsShark has the over/under for the game at 48 points. When Tennessee has played on the road, the total has gone under five of the last seven times. The total has gone over when Florida plays at home seven of the last nine times.

The OddsShark computer has projected a sizable Gators victory by a score of 28.8-18.7.

With the Florida suspensions along with the way the Gators have looked, I am picking Tennessee to end their losing streak to Florida this Saturday.

Heavy’s Pick: Tennessee 20, Florida 17. Tennessee -1, Under on the point total.
