The Bengals almost suffered a huge loss early in Thursday night’s game against the Dolphins, as Jeremy Hill was forced out of action in the first quarter. Hill sat out for the Bengals early touchdown drive, but returned in the second quarter. Hill was knocked out of action in the second half after being horse-collar tackled, but returned after three plays.

Hill has received the bulk of the action in this young season, and had his best game of the season just last week against Denver. Facing a Broncos defense that is regarded as one of the best in the league, Hill exploded for 97 yards and two scores on 17 carries.

Of course Hill is only half of Cincinnati’s rushing duo, and it’s clear who will take over his share of the workload. Giovani Bernard is owned is most fantasy leagues, and will be the primary rusher if Hill is forced to miss any additional time.

The last time the Dolphins met the Bengals on a Thursday night, it was Bernard who carried the Bengals offense. This ridiculous rushing TD helped put the game into overtime, but the Bengals lost on a game-winning safety by Cameron Wake.

If Hill doesn’t return, Bernard becomes a fantasy must-start. Bernard was making plays in the run and pass game while splitting time, and could be a top performer if he is getting all the touches.
