The Xbox One just got a magnificent racing game in the form of Forza Horizon 2. Gamers got to travel an open world and engage in several fun racing sprints with an an awesoem set of rides. While the PS4 hasn’t been granted another Gran Turismo yet, console owners will be getting an original racer real soon – DRIVECLUB.
Evolution Studios and Sony Computer Entertainment are have been prepping this next-gen racer for a while now. Come October 7, 2014, PS4 owners will finally get the chance to race around in this innovative take on social racing. DRIVECLUB is a pretty extensive game to wrap your head around, but we’re here to make sure you fully understand it.

1. The Developers of DRIVECLUB Have Worked on Several Past Racing Games
DRIVECLUB is definitely in good hands. The developers behind this racer (British video game development studio Evolution Studios) have worked extensively on past racing games. Their track record includes such quality racing franchises such as World Rally Championship and MotorStorm. All of these game have been released in some form on Sony’s line of PlayStation consoles at one point in time.
2. The Game Focuses on Social Interaction Between Online Racers
The main hook of DRIVECLUB is its online racing club features. Players can found or join a group of fellow racers that includes up to six other players. As you finish races, win Faceoffs, drive to new locations and complete various challenges during your playthrough, you’ll earn Accolades for you club.
These Accolades help increase the amount of Fame points earned in races, which helps your Club unlock new items and compete in more events. Clubs will be different from fellow competitors through the use of custom team colors and logos.
3. The Game Helps Clubs Stay Connected Through the Use of a Mobile App
Players will get the chance to keep up with their chosen club’s progress by interacting with the MyDRIVECLUB iOS/Android app. This mobile app will show you your club’s current performance, livestream ongoing races, allow you to set and send challenges and keep up to date on the goings-on in DRIVECLUB.
4. Several Real-World Locations Will Be Featured as Tracks
DRIVECLUB features five different locations inspired by real locales (Canada, India, Chile, the United Kingdom and Norway). Each of these real-world locales will come with 11 separate track within them. Every one of these locations and tracks will feature dynamic weather conditions and a day-night cycle.
5. The DLC Season Pass Will Offer Early Adopters a Wealth of Content
The downloadable Season Pass for DRIVECLUB will gift its buyers with 11 new race courses, 23 new events and a new vehicle every month from November 2014 until June 2015. Along with these additional items, Season Pass recipients will also be granted new trophies and custom car livery packs.
