August 2015 may have offered up the widest variety of action games yet. Each of our recent favorites makes an appearance on this list and they each target all types of specific gamers’ interests. There’s even a game on here where you make a lil’ boy travel by having him get blasted from rocket barrels. Then we have some other picks that let you do one of these awesome activities – hop into the world of DC as LEGO superheroes, shoot down “celebrities,” take control of a speedy ninja and survive against failed experiments. Here’s the top five new android action games for the last month of the summer!
1. Bullet Boy
Bullet Boy’s premise is simple – you take control of a hero who’s constantly searching for and collecting ancient statue artifacts. All the while, he has to stay ahead of a dangerous tornado. How does he do it? By constantly getting propelled from rocket cannons. If you mastered the barrel portions of any stage in the side-scrolling Donkey Kong Country games, you’ll know what to expect here. The stages in this action platformer presents all types of fresh challenges, which keeps all that rocket blasting action from getting stale. Bullet Boy is a ton of fun.
2. Shooting Stars!
There’s a group of people out there who actually get physically sick when they hear news about the same ol’ celebrities. Some of the famous names that annoy them might be Kanye West, Hulk Hogan, Justin Bieber and any members of the Kardashian clan. Shooting Stars! lets you fulfill your desires to punish these TMZ regulars. This mind blowing shoot ’em up puts all types of amazing weaponry in your grasp. You’ll have to put them all to use as you take down aliens (who just happen to be disguised as real-world celebs). Your “lazer kitty” weapon comes in handy for protecting the planet from annoying celebrities and their allies.
3. Speedy Ninja
Ninjas are stealthy, swift and deadly. Especially the ones that have to stay alive on an endless path full of random obstacles. That’s certainly the case for Speedy Ninja, a threat filled endless runner. Thankfully, you don’t go into these stages without proper aid. Your ninja can ride fire breathing dragons, send out bladed ice crystals, adopt a lighting orb shield etc. There’s new costumes you can attach to your ninja to upgrade him, plus completing daily challenges adds more rewards to your ninja stash. Speedy Ninja is the best endless runner we got our hands on this month.
4. Killing Floor: Calamity
PC gamers have already gotten their kicks with this series in 1st-person shooter form. Now Android gamers get the opportunity to blast mutated experiments in the face. Killing Floor: Calamity places the camera above you this time and puts you on the warpath with dangerous abominations. 21 characters from the PC original are present, nine new maps have been produced, 35 powerful weapons are available to equip etc. This top-down shooter is even more fun if you take advantage of its 2-player, local co-op feature. Pick up your Golden AK47 and complete your mission!
5. LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham
The ultimate DC superhero game has flown over from consoles to mobile devices. This Android port of LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham replicates the experience that you may have already experienced on your home gaming setup. There’s hundreds of heroes and villains at your disposal, so you could squad up popular and less popular DC characters. Batman and the rest of the Justice League have to save the universe from Braniac, collect thousands of LEGO studs and crack jokes at every opportunity they get. LEGO Batman: Beyond Gotham is fun for the lil’ ones and adults alike.
