The Angels released Cisnero on Wednesday. After being DFA'd by the Halos on Sunday, Cisnero will now enter the open market after going unclaimed off waivers. The 35-year-old righty has allowed 12 earned runs in just 15.2 innings this season.
The Angels designated Cisnero for assignment Sunday. Cisnero was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Saturday after missing nearly four months due to shoulder inflammation, and he'll lose his place on the 26-man and 40-man rosters after one appearance. The 35-year-old has a 6.89 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 17:8 K:BB over 15.2 innings this season.
The Angels activated Cisnero (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Saturday, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. Cisnero hasn't pitched for the Halos since April 27 due to inflammation in his throwing shoulder. However, after allowing one run with eight strikeouts across four rehab appearances (4.2 innings) with Triple-A Salt Lake, the 35-year-old was cleared to rejoin the active roster. Jose Soriano (arm fatigue) was placed on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.
