BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Jon Jones, Junior dos Santos and John Howard each earned “Knockout of the Night” honors at tonight’s “UFC on Versus 1” event.
UFC President Dana White announced after the show that there wouldn’t be a Fight of the Night award given for the card. Instead, the three men each earned $50,000 for impressive knockout finishes in their respective bouts. It was the first time in UFC history that three Knockout awards were given for a single show.
Clay Guida also goes home $50,000 richer, thanks to his Submission of the Night award. Guida, far and away the most popular fighter on the entire show, submitted Shannon Gugerty with an arm triangle in the final preliminary bout.
