Former TUF finalist drops to welterweight
UFC rookie Carlos Eduardo Rocha is set to debut with the promotion against “The Ultimate Fighter 11” finalist Kris McCray at UFC 122.
German website GroundAndPound.de first reported the match up, and it has since been confirmed by MMAjunkie.com.
McCray battled his way through the competition in the eleventh season of “The Ultimate Fighter“, all the way to the season finale. McCray failed to win the final fight, losing via submission to Court McGee. The loss was the first of McCray’s six-fight career, snapping a five-fight winning streak that featured five first round stoppages.
Rocha enters into the UFC at UFC 122 after eight impressive stoppage victories. He boasts an undefeated record of 8-0, with all eight of those victories coming via stoppage, seven in the first round. His last fight was a first round submission victory over Fatih Balci this past May.
UFC 122 is set for the Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen, Germany on November 13. The event features a middleweight bout between contenders Vitor Belfort and Yushin Okami. The winner of the fight will likely be next in line for the middleweight title. The November event will be aired live on Spike TV via same-day tape delay.
