Josh Koscheck suffered a broken orbital bone during his one-sided loss to UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre during last night’s UFC 124 event in Montreal.
Koscheck was injured in the first round of his championship headlining bout with St. Pierre. He lasted through the end of the fight, but the damage done to the eye left him virtually blind. St. Pierre took full advantage, peppering the challenger with quick jabs and left hooks.
Koscheck was not cleared by medical officials to fly home on Sunday morning, so UFC officials instead arranged for Koscheck and manager Bob Cook to drive to Boston, where Koscheck is expected to undergo surgery on Monday afternoon.
