Several bouts announced for UFC 129 in Toronto

The Ultimate Fighting Championship revealed several bouts scheduled for UFC 129 on April 30 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on its web series “Ultimate Insider.”

Headlined by the welterweight title bout between Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields, UFC 129 will also feature UFC featherweight titleholder Jose Aldo defending his title for the first time against a to be determined opponent.

UFC president Dana White has gone on record saying that if Mark Hominick defeats George Roop at this weekend’s “UFC Fight Night 23: Fight for the Troops 2” at Fort Hood in Texas, that the Canadian will fight Aldo for the title.

If Roop emerges victorious against Hominick, the UFC will find another opponent for Aldo at UFC 129.

Other bouts confirmed were Phil Davis vs. Matt Hamill, former WEC lightweight titleholder Ben Henderson makes his UFC debut against Mark Bocek, Jason MacDonald takes on Ryan Jensen, and Brian Foster faces Sean Pierson.

Also expected on the card is a light heavyweight bout between Randy Couture and Lyoto Machida.
