Hard-hitting heavyweights face off at UFC on Versus 4
Heavyweights Matt Mitrione and Christian Morecraft will square off at UFC on Versus 4 on June 26.
UFC President Dana White announced the bout via UFC.com on Monday afternoon.
Mitrione is undefeated since leaving the Ultimate Fighter house. The former NFL defensive tackle actually made his professional debut in his first official UFC bout, defeating Marcus Jones at the Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale in 2009. Since that first win, Mitrione has rattled off victories over Kimbo Slice, Tim Hague and Joey Beltran to run his pro record to 4-0.
Morecraft recently defeated Mitrione’s friend Sean McCorkle at UFC Fight Night 24 in Seattle. The slugger is 1-1 in his UFC career after dropping his debut bout to Stefan Struve at UFC 117 last August.
UFC on Versus 4 is scheduled for June 26 in Pittsburgh. Other notable bouts include Pat Barry vs. Cheick Kongo, Joe Stevenson vs. Javier Vazquez and Tyson Griffin vs. Manny Gamburyan.
