UFC 133 Fight Card: Matyushenko vs. Gustafsson Likely

Vladimir Matyushenko

Gustafsson meets Matyushenko in August

A 205 lb. tilt between Alexander Gustafsson and Vladimir Matyushenko is likely for UFC 133 in Philly.

MMAjunkie.com reported the news earlier today after learning that verbal agreements are in place.

Matyushenko is wasting little time getting back in the cage after his decimation of Jason Brilz on the main card of UFC 129 last month. Prior to the vicious first round knockout, the veteran of the sport defeated Alexandre Ferreira via technical knockout back at UFC 122 last November.

Like his upcoming opponent, Gustafsson is on a two-fight winning streak of his own, defeat James Te-Huna and Cyrille Diabate by rear naked choke consecutively. At 11-1, his lone career loss came to contender Phil Davis, who fights Rashad Evans in the co-main event of UFC 133.

The August 6 event is set for the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is expected to feature a main event between featherweight champion Jose Aldo and top contender Chad Mendes.
