UFC newcomers Donny Walker and Jeff Hougland will meet on the preliminary card of UFC 132 next weekend.
UFC officials announced the bout on Thursday afternoon. The bantamweight bout completes the 11-fight July 4th weekend card.
The event will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by a UFC bantamweight title fight between Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber.
Hougland has scored eight straight wins, with his last victory coming by way of submission over Craig Ross at a Rumble on the Ridge event last month. His most notable career opponent was Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez, who handed Hougland a TKO loss at WEC 6 way back in 2003.
Walker also has a nice winning streak going, winning seven straight prior to inking with the UFC. His last appearance was in December, choking out Billy Vaughn at a NAAFS event. Walker has faced Cub Swanson and Jeff Curran in his career, though both fights were submission losses.
