Dave Herman vs. Mike Russow Added To UFC 136

Dave Herman

Two heavyweight prospects face off in Houston

A heavyweight bout between Dave “Pee Wee” Herman and Mike Russow has been confirmed for UFC 136 in October.

The UFC announced the matchup on Thursday night.

UFC 136 takes place Oct. 8 at the Toyota Center in Houston. Though a headlining fight has yet to be announced, the lightweight title rematch between Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard is believed to be the strongest contender. Chael Sonnen makes his return to the cage against Brian Stann in the c0-main event.

Herman made his UFC debut in June with a win over Jon Olav Einemo in one of the craziest fights of 2011. He’s currently riding a three-fight winning streak.

Russow last competed in March, when he earned a win over Jon Madsen. He’s best known for his stirring come-from-behind knockout win over Todd Duffee after losing the majority of the three-round fight.

A featherweight bout between Matt Grice and Josh Grispi was also announced for the card.
